St. Antony in Tulsa

During the end of the 19th century, emigrants the Middle East settled in Oklahoma Territory. These settlers arrived in this part of the country with their culture, and also their Orthodox Christian faith. After decades of maintaining the Apostolic Faith of their homeland, an Orthodox Church was established to meet the spiritual needs of these families. In 1959, and St. Antony was officially established as a parish.

Today, St. Antony is a community with members from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds. Among our members are the descendants of those first Middle Eastern emigrants, Orthodox Christians from other ethnic traditions, and American converts who discovered the rich treasure of Orthodox worship and practice.

St Antony is a parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, an Archdiocese of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East. We trace our roots to first century Antioch, the city in which the disciples of Jesus Christ were first called Christians (Acts 11:26).
